Fund for Community Engaged Curriculum

Rice University’s 10-year strategic plan focuses on premier teaching and research. The Rice experience places emphasis on advancing undergraduate and graduate education and building thriving communities. The Center for Engaged Research and Collaborative Learning’s mission supports this plan and offers the Fund for Community Engaged Curriculum.

CERCLs FCEC awards grants up to $3,000 for proposals in line with Rice MOMENTUS’ strategic plan to enhance its personalized approach to education through strengthening and integrating academic and co-curricular activities. Our mission to promote and advance models and practices of an expansive approach to leadership both on and off the Rice campus, through innovative research, engaged pedagogy, and creative approaches to application aligns with MOMENTUS. Our FCEC supports curriculum and programs that foster an academically excellent, diverse, curious, and deeply engaged student body and develop an educated citizenry that will lead in their field of study and advance the public good through insights, service, innovation, and discourse to solve the challenges of the future and the betterment of the world.

Fund Goals

The fund is meant to:

• provide grants to faculty (both tenure track and non-tenure track) who are developing new courses, revising existing courses or creating new initiatives that are in line with the goals of fund for community engaged curriculum.
• provide grants to student organizations wanting to undertake programming related to the goals of fund for community engaged curriculum.

Rice University tenured and non-tenured faculty, Rice student organizations.
